@Kischa I'll try to post a link before this week-end.
Vidéo resolution is made for a 4:3 19" screen, i hope it will be ok :)

I'm building a BubbleBobble themed bartop.

So if anyone's bored I would really love a simple, stylish splashscreen around 20-24 secs duration, with some few 8-bit sounds like an initial bootup "boink" sound, with a flashing Bubble Bobble dragon on a black screen, or something similar, and then the RetroPie / ES logos flashing up in the end.

            That'd be awesome!

@Deders14 that's what the randomiser is for

I couldn't get the randomizer to work with videos in my splashscreens folder from my mounted USB device. I had to copy them to the splashscreen folder on the microsd.

As i said on my post with the vidéo, it was all thks to the file provided by "Elementyl HD" (a youtuber) and his quick guide.
I Just adapt it to my bartop, nothing more. But the one you link is pretty nice too!

Either way it's freaking awesome! I was curious because I ripped the YouTube video to use in my video splash rotation.

Nicely done on the setup as a whole.

I'm trying to become more active in the community as Retropie has become a huge passion of mine, thanks largely in part to all of you folks and this community. I'm still learning the in's and outs, but I wanted to share my Retropie Splash Videos too, as I've made a few. Some of them I'm proud of, and others might not be quite as good. But I'd love for you all to use them if you like them!

So here is a question for you all:

I have made a video splash intro and it runs properly in the "test video splash" options menu, but when actually booting up my pi3, the audio cuts in and out and the screen flashes. Any ideas what might be going on? The file is already a .mp4.

@HallelujahJaffar wow. Thank you very much for sharing - these are all fantastic! I might certainly use one of these as my splash screen :)

@ward614 I actually had this same issue when I first loaded up my first Splash Video to my Retropie. This link is what fixed it for me. Scroll down just a little and follow what Buzz posted as a fix.

                                        Hello everyone!
I'm trying to make a splashscreen with a video game montage.
There are 63 consoles I am trying to fit in this one, each with 3 seconds, which would end up at 189 seconds, which is roughly 2 minutes.
Is that too long for a splashscreen?

@itsnitro ...maybe :P The ones I use are on the longer side, 35s, and it's because I have quite a bit of metadata to load, I find. I wouldn't expect it to need to take a lot more. How long does your ES load time take?

Could you frame 4 consoles at a time, or maybe same family ones in the same frame, to reduce the time?

What I did was reduce the frame limit to 1 second for each console. Might find a way to put 4 consoles at a time on the screen.
Also, the load time is pretty short for me. 4 seconds?
                                            I use a raspberry Pi 3.
