MAME - I'm confused
-
Hi All,
Firstly I've just ordered my first PI 3 and plan to download Retropie to begin my classic arcade project, I'm so confused with Rom's I I own a rom that's says it's a 0.164 Rom but when I look at which emulator is best 0.164 isn't listed https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/MAME . I was just going to drop it in Mame4all but wanted to get peoples opinions.
Thanks in advance

Read the Managing Roms link on that page. You need to a) get a set that matches the supported versions or b) rebuild a working set from your current set (the more sets you have the more likely you can rebuild a set)

Okay im still very new to all this so figuring it all out bit by bit, ill have a look at the ppost and see if it makes sense, Thank You

Okay I get the rebuilding romsets, my next question is what's the best romset to rebuild too, most roms I own are 0.164 is for example is MAME4all 0.37b5 the best option or am I missing something glaring like lr-imame4all is the better option. Appologies for the Nieve questions

@thrussmeister this belongs in help and support. I'll move it.

you can check the compatibility lists, but lr-mame2003 has decent compatibility vs speed for the RPI3 (and lr-fba-next)
