I see there are some mame emulators versions running with retropie; and they support different romset versions too...

To be more confusing, as I see in compatibility list, not all games are supported on all mame emulators versions, by example, let´s say a game called pinball_game that could work with advmame emulator but not with mame-mame4all emulator...

So, how do I do? Must I have all mame romsets versions and every version in the right mame emulator directory?
Must I have only one full emulator version (and wich one?) and the games that don´t work with this one in the rest of emulators directories?

How do you do this? Is there a more compatible emulator that must be common used?

      thanks

You can use all the mame versions if you want, unless you hand pick roms that need different versions I would try and stick with one or 2. You can run them together in the Arcade directory.
You should read through this link, And through this one to better understand.

I tried to put in Arcade directory, but I must to choose the emulator the first time the game start.

But even if the game doesn´t work with this emulator, I don´t be asked the second time I start the game.

How must I do to choose another emulator for that game? There is any way to add the compatibility list to retropie automatically choose the right emulator for the game?

          thanks
