      Pi Model or other hardware: (Pi3)
      Power Supply used: (5 v 2.52amp)
      RetroPie Version Used (4.2.1 from 4.2):
      Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website)

      Im getting round to switch the modes that have two names. IE PC engine, Megadrive. to the USA versions. and after following what Wiki says to do. my Genesis/Megadrive is missing.

      the other two. pc engine and Videopac switched correctly.
      how do i get it back with out reloading the whole thing?

        @ExarKunIv you must have made a mistake editing the es_systems.cfg xml file if it just disappeared. Go back and check your work for errors. That's unusual as it usually just refuses to work if you have a syntax error in that file.

          @AlexMurphy

          funny thing i did not edit es_systems.cfg xml

          i made platforms.cfg and put

          megadrive_theme="genesis"
          megadrive_platform="genesis"

          and then updated the emulators. when i rebooted it was gone

                    @ExarKunIv silly question, but did you do the final step? From the wiki: "Once this is done, please update any of the currently installed megadrive emulators from RetroPie-Setup and Emulation Station will now use the Genesis logo. Scraping from within Emulation Station should also return Genesis"

                                lol sorry for the wait

                                i looked in to it and it seems the link with the two folders megadrive and genesis is not working. so when i change the es_systems.cfg it worked, but there was no games in the folder to come up.

                                why its not working, no clue. but i copyed the games over from the genesis to megadrive and they all work and it comes up with genesis not megadrive

                                      yes. i just missed that when i copied it

                                      so for right now im just going to copy it to the working folder and run with it. has long as i see what i would like then im not going to worry about it

                                        @ExarKunIv There is another option... If you can only get the megadrive to show up simply copy the image files from the Genesis folder over to the Megadrive folder to overwrite them in whatever theme you use. It will still scrape the Megadrive box art etc, but the Genesis logo will be displayed in the ES menus. It's a shitty "hack" / workaround but it'll work, cosmetically at least.

                                            do you have a copy of es_systems.cfg in /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation ? if so that one overrides the retropie one. You should remove it if you want RetroPie to manage the systems.
