      Hi, this awesome game requires numeric pad on keyboard to build railroad tracks. My compact keyboard don't have a numpad, so can I change key mapping in some way?

      Thank you!

        It is possible I think via the mapper - https://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Mapper - but it might just be easier to plug in another keyboard for this game.

          @BuZz Thank you, I'll try the key mapping. Another keyboard is not an option for me.

            @Arcuza
            Even if this thread is old i want to share the solution....
            I made a copy of the original mapper file (found in ./dosbox) and renamed it for Railroad Tycoon (mapperrrt.map im my case). After that i edited the Dosbox conf i use for this game to the new mapper file.
            After that i started the Dosbox and hit CRTL-F1 for Keymapper.
            1.
            Click on the "Num-Key" of the virtual keyboard followed by "Add" and assign a key on your keyboard (i took "Del" for that). Hit "save" afterwards.

            After that i did the same with all nine NumPad direction keys. I chose to map them to the keys in the far right of the keyboard ("0"/"-"/"+") and the two rows beneath that. These keys aren't used in Railroad Tycoon.

            When you start up Railroad Tycoon the keys work from the beginning, but just act as movement keys for the cursor. You have to hit the "Num-Key" ("Del" in my case) to get the track building working....

            Have fun playing this old beauty.

                @HPK-de so how do you point a game to its own mapper? I would live to be able to do this. I have about 50 games using the same mapper.
