Games you haven't completed to this very day? (No Cheats Allowed)

- Gradius nes
- Rush n attack nes
Gradius and rush n attack for the nes have been my achilles heel since i got them as a kid. I was really really good at games, but these two kept me failing repeatedly in my futile attempt at conquering them. Now days if i play rush n attack, if im lucky, i can make it past the first enemy.... :(
Edit: i beat ninja gaiden many many times as a kid. Man i loved that game. I probably played that more than any game in the old days. Final fantasy vii probably has taken more of my time as it took me between 90-100 hours per game start to finish

I still haven't beaten castlevania 3 and journey to silius, I wan't to no death beat aliens vs predator. I don't count snes and gen games. I can't think of one that is nintendo hard. Maybe actraiser 2? can anyone attest to actraiser 2? I haven't attempted. I have beat a lot of nes games--Zelda 2 was the first one I took down, then I beat tmnt, the nes contras, batman (nes), zelda 1. I lose track after that but I eventually got brave and took down the ninja gaidens (never thought I would beat those). Then I went after battletoads. And this is were I hit a snag, I could not get past the clinger winger stage with an emulator. I bought actual hardware and beat it. I would not recomend playing battletoads on the pi. I have actually beaten the clinger winger stage with the pi but it took about fifteen tries. I usually beat it second try with actual hardware....

Nes faxanadu. It had no saves!
-
The ones that come to mind more often were FFVII and FFVIII. God, I spent so many hours in those games - I even played VII twice - but made it to the last boss on both and just couldn't beat it.
-
man i not played much FF but i heard them games do take a minute to beat.
-
Pretty sure it would be easier to list games I HAVE completed as I could prob do it both hands...
-
For the MSX
Pitfall 2
H.E.R.O
Knightmare
BeamriderNes
Lolo3
BattletoadsSnes
Yoshi's IslandI know could've been a better list ;)
-
Kung Fu Master. After 30 years I still can't get past level 2. :D
-
Darius. It has 8 endings, but I can't make it to even one of them. I'm thinking it may be a two person/player job.
-
Little Nemo: The Dream Master (NES), I can't even reach the last boss. The last stage has 3 levels, with a boss at the end of each level. I can beat the two bosses and reach the last level. And then, game over... I don't even know how the last boss looks like.
BTW: after a continue, you have to start from the beggining of the stage, and defeat the bosses again.

@meleu
I've never played Little Nemo: The Dream Master before very recently but my wife said she had it growing up and remembers playing it a lot and that it was really hard. She said she could only get to the 2nd level. I tried it a couple months ago and I agree, it is pretty difficult! -
I mentioned on an earlier post that I could not think of any genesis games or snes games that were nintendo hard...but then I remembered super ghouls and ghosts, x-men 1 and x-men 2 on genesis, these games are hard. I have not beat super ghouls and ghosts but I have beaten the x-men games. x-men 2 clone wars takes FOREVER and I don't think there is a password system. x-men on snes is not easy but I wouldn't call it nintendo hard. Can anyone else think of hard gen or snes games?

A LINK TO THE PAST.

Blaster Master
Marble Madness
Milon's Secret Castle -
@Keigan i have no idea how i was able to beat marble madness as a kid. That game is so freaking hard now.
-
@space-cadet Faxanadu had codes instead of saves. However, it might be the best game ever that didn't get a sequel. Absolutely worth playing with save states.
-
Fester's Quest had the coolest 15 seconds intro back in the day, but the game was awful. At that time I only had Super Mario Bros and Goonies II, so I probably did spend 20 hours trying to finish it, but never did. Castlevania caught by attention a few months later.
-
'Fester's Quest' flirts with being a good game. There's some decent ideas scattered throughout and I kind of like the item system, as well as getting to meet the rest of the family along the way. It uses the 'Blaster Master' engine, but the weapon power ups are really hit or miss, which makes fully upgrading your gun a necessity.
Did you ever beat 'Goonies II'? It's a game I can go through on one life. Strange enemies aside, I think it captures the subterranean exploration elements of the film very well. As retro platformers go, it has everything that I look for; great sound track, tons of hidden collectable items and cool power-ups that affect progression, slippery ice levels and floaty swimming levels. The Goonies 'r' good enough.

@mediamogul
I loved Goonies II as well! I remember beating it a couple times on the original hardware back in the day! I really haven't played it since except last month I loaded it up on RetroPie and played it for a bit. I also loved those rooms you could walk around in:
