I'll get one of those apps going today and shoot you a text.

If you don't have any of those and want a suggestion, my suggestion is telegram. ;-)

Final Fantasy I on the GBA. It's such a simple game compared to everything else that came after it, but it's surprisingly relaxing being able to go on quick grinds without having to think about espers, jobs, materia, guardian forces, sphere grids, etc.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just signed up to telegram. Is the number you gave me through RA how I reach you there?

Started a casual game of The Ur-Quan Masters port the other day. I originally played the Star Control games on PC way back when they 1st came out. My seven year old right beside me on the couch and he was very interested in my game.

Volgarr on dreamcast, it's a tough game but so fun. Then probably some multiplayer king of kings on nes.

Does Volgarr the Viking play well on the RPi?

Thanks! I'll contact you a bit later today. The new netplay is working better than even the developer gives it credit for. He lists lr-stella as being a core that would not perform well, yet I was able to connect to a user last night and we maintained a connection for quite some time. Granted, it was in spectator mode, as the user was playing the one player game 'Moon Patrol', but outside of the inability to have direct control over the game, the heavy lifting was still being accomplished.

@mediamogul I tested netplay with my "real life" friend @R1n0X and it worked well. Here is the setup:

                      • both devices are Android phones.
                      • RetroArch 1.5.0.
                      • FCEUmm core
                      • Battle City (NES)
                      • 4G network connection

We noticed a small bit of lag, not enough to impact the fun :)

I tried using my Android phone as a host and my RetroPie as the guest and failed, but I was tired and didn't tried hard...

@backstander It plays very well at least from what i've tested. The cool thing is about it, it's also a free ported game.

I just bought the Monkey Island 1 and 2 Special Editions because some days ago I've seen that you can build Talkie Version of the classic versions for ScummVM from them. And I totally forgot that Thimbleweed Park was released some days ago as well.

This morning my son got out my old Ghostbusters Ecto-1 toy car:
                                0_1491696331028_gb-ecto-1s.jpg

So I was inspired to play New Ghostbusters II on the NES (note: the Ecto-1 isn't even in this game). I enjoyed my time with it and it took me only about 40 minutes to complete.

                                0_1491696866353_New Ghostbusters II (Europe)-170408-132255s.jpg

I've actually never played it before because when I was a kid I played a different Ghostbusters game on the NES and it was very, very horrible!

Metroid - Fusion for GBA will be my game for a few weeks ahead.
