"Retropie" console gone after switching to USB

I recently followed the guide over at the github wiki and it is working great except for one problem. The "retropie" console(the one with wifi and retropie-setup), which is normally in the console select menu, has disappeared. I don't need it right now, but having all the settings in one place is very useful.

EDIT- "Ports" are also missing but that might be because I deleted them, I can't quite remember

The link you gave points to the information regarding external USB usage. If you used the automatic mount, a copy of the RetroPie menu directory is transferred there and used until automatic mount is disabled. It could be that you deleted this directory. can you confirm whether or not /home/pi/RetroPie/retropiemenu/ exists and that it has it's expected contents?

@RoboCreeper707 just tested with my build and it showed up for me. You can try reinstalling it from the setup script from the terminal

@mediamogul On the usb drive, the retropiemenu exists. It has one folder called "icons" and that appears to be empty. I am going to try and manually copy over the ports and retropiemenu folders from the sd card.

@RoboCreeper707 The roms folder on the sd card is completely empty, and I cannot find the retropiemenu folder to copy. Is there any way I can download this without imaging my sd card?

Is your USB drive still connected while you're trying to do this? Remember that the automatic mount process mounts the retropie-mount folder over the original location. If you haven't already, power down the Pi, remove the USB drive and reboot to see if the original directory structure is in place. If so, you can copy the directory to a temporary location and finally onto the USB drive when it's reconnected. If not, then I'm afraid you'll probably have to re-image.

The automatic method doesn't totally copy everything over. Try manually copying things from your RetroPie folder on the SD card to the USB drive, then reboot. That's what I had to do to get mine to work.

I've been working under the impression that it did. I don't believe I'm missing anything myself. Do you know what all isn't carried over?

@mediamogul Well, it's supposed to, but it didn't for me. For whatever reason it copied over the folder structure, and the base BIOS files, though not ones I'd added. I had to copy over the contents of the individual rom folders, the retropiemenu folder, and to be safe, I just copied everything in the whole RetroPie folder. I'm not sure why it didn't work, and I really didn't care enough to troubleshoot it since copying things manually got me up and running quickly.

@obsidianspider It should copy over everything. and worked when I was testing it. If you think there is a bug I will need some help to reproduce it.

@BuZz I already have my two systems set up and working after the manual copying. I'm actually out of extra Pis and USB drives at the moment. If it's broken it's not bad enough that I wasn't able to fix it so it didn't really bother me.
