dolphin and ps2 emu on ubunte 16.04.2
-
Hello,
i tried retropie on a fresh ubuntu install (as described in the docs: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroPie-Ubuntu-16.04-LTS-x86-Flavor/ )
Everything works fine so far, but i wanted to install dolphin and ps2 emu.
Both do not seem to work. Do i need a 64bit ubunto for them to work? I Installed a 32bit version, because the docs said:
Note that this will be the 32 bit version of RetroPie. That means that some emulators such as Daphne (Dragon's Lair) will not work out of the box on this version. That is because Daphne and a few other emulators only have a 64 bit version released for use while this install is for the 32 bit cpu family.
does this mean i can use dolphin, but i have to some special things or is it better to start fresh with a 64bit version of ubuntu?

ok, i now switeched to lubuntu 17.04 64bit.
everything works, even dolphin, but i can not find the ps2 emu anywhere...is this one 32bit only?
Can anyone give me a hint?

It doesn't state a lot more there, unfortunately. It should be in the experimental section, but it seems that it's currently disabled for 64bit OSes:

PCSX2 the playstation emulator is 32 bit only. It also has some libraries that are not compatible with 64bit retropie. You can try to run it in a chroot if you have the know how. I've managed to get a copy that somewhat works that way, however I still can't get a chrooted install to recognize my gamepad. I'm going to try to see if a generic usb controller would be recognized when I have time, but due to family issues I just haven't been able to lately. Buzz was also going to potentially look at those libraries to see if there was anything he can do, but so far nothing.

thanks, so i am not blind:-)
i can live without ps2 emu...but dolphin is nice for all the old gamecube games...

Nope not blind. Hopefully I'll either get the chance to figure out something (I'm really pushing my limits with it) or Buzz will at some point, as it'd be nice to have working.
