N64 Emulator Exit Button Issues
-
Ok, I'm going to start by stating that this was my last resort. I honestly tried to fix this issue on my own utilizing the website. (hopefully I didn't make things worse)
- I have a Pi Model 3B
- Utilizing the same power supply provided in the Canakit (5V 2.5A)
- It is currently running the most recent version (4.2)
- Built from the SD Image from the Retropie Website
- There is also a 7 port D-link hub connected to allow multiple controlers P/N # CUBH7LB. It has it's own power supply.
- There are 2 F310 USB Logitech Controllers plugged in.
- No error Messages have been received with this particular issue (Yet)
- I am having this issue with all my N64 Roms.
- Emulator (Current) is the MUPEN64PLUS
Here is my issue: Ever since Version 4.0 I have been incapable of exiting out of Any of the N64 Emulators. All other Emulators for all other systems work just fine. The only one giving me problems is the N64. Odd, I know.
My first thought was that there had to be an issue with my Controller Configurations. I have double, triple, and quadruple checked my configurations (I am aware that both the mupen64plus.cfg and InputAutoCfg.ini must both be configured for the MUPEN64PLUS). I have even tested my controls in game (namely Banjo-Kazooie) Everything functions as I have mapped it out. The only button sequence that will not function is the enable hotkey button. The mupen64plus_hotkeys is currently Enabled (1)
My current configuration has the Hotkey Button as 10 (the Logitech Button) I have also tried changing my hotkey button. The results are the same.
Is there something I am missing? Maybe there is a setting I have overlooked? What additional information should I be supplying to help you help me?
Thank you kindly for any assistance.

@Rabbitfoot I am not familiar with this emulator, but you have provided good information. The only additional item that might shed some light on this for someone familiar with the details is to add your .cfg file and .ini file contents (use markdown to format, or use Pastebin). At least that way, someone can look at your config files and see if there is something amiss.

@Rabbitfoot Mine does the same thing. Its because it is not one of the libretro emulators. I have to push the ESC key on the keyboard.
-
How do you switch to the libretro Emulators? It would be a quick temporary solution until I get the rest figured out.
-
I'm not sure if this is doing it right, but..
Here is the entry from the .ini File.:

I didn't think you'd want the whole file as the above portion is the only part that has been modified.
Here is the entry from the .cfg file:

** Everything that follows the last line is simply duplicate coding for controllers 2,3, and 4.

@Rabbitfoot If you press a key when launching a game, you can interrupt the launch and the Runcommand screen will appear. This will let you set the default emulator or the emulator used for just that rom.
-
@Rabbitfoot right after you select the N64 game you want to play and start it, for a brief moment there is usually a little grey box that appears. The grey box says to push a button to open the options. Whether the grey box comes up or not, just hold a button down right after pressing the key to start the game from within the list of games to choose from. Then a menu will start that allows you to change the emulator, resolution, etc. The emulator you are using probably works best for the N64 games. Using a lib-whatever emulator, you will probably have to lower the resolution to its lowest.
