Nice find on Warrior Blade: Rastan Saga III. I had played that a long time ago and had forgot about it!

Having no luck with the BOR stuff out of about 4 different ones only one loaded up past menu's (and went blank after.)

That's what I was worried would happen. You should give the MS-DOS version a try!

I cant seem to find the SOR remake, maybe im looking in the wrong place?

It's not built into RetroPie and you have to go to this site for the instructions to add this "Extra" script:
      https://github.com/zerojay/RetroPie-Extra

The only issue I had with SOR Remake was how to exit the game and get back to EmulationStation.

Great list and discussion! This is the cleanest list of beat em' ups I've seen yet! Thank you! I can't get night slashers to boot either! Does anyone have any insight on that? I really want to play that game.

@greenhulk Same here! I've tried every version (clone/region) for mame2003 and advance mame none of them will load. And I am using the right romset with the right emulator. I've even tried the wrong roms. I've done searches on here for insight and all I've found are a couple people mentioning how good it is. But thanks again for this list!

Mame2010 loads Night Slashers with errors. I get like 35fps on my oc'd pi2, though.

Didn't see Brawl Brothers on the list, which i'm really suprised.

I didn't see the SNES versions of Batman on the list:

                        Batman Forever (which has co-op):

                        Batman Returns:

The Adventures of Batman & Robin (more action than Beat Em Up):

@Omnija ah the Rushing Beat series. I always wanted to play them but I heard the american ports butchered the story by making up their own, removed scenes/intro and shortened the endings. Rushing Beat 1/ Rival Turf just got translated last year so I'll try that one.

Koryuu no Mimi looks interesting, you have "the power to control money and women" :D but it's a beat-em up for the Super Famicom. I tested the translated rom but the patch makes the game freeze in the first level in snes9x2010. The other emulators don't freeze the game but it makes controls unresponsive. Sigh...
                          0_1493661421607_SNES--Kouryuu no Mimi english translation_Feb4 1_07_48.png

Ane-San for the Pc-Engine CD. It's a fun beat-em up with an all girl cast. The grabs have some hair pulling:D. The game is weird, you can die in 2-3 hits but I think you can get stronger as you progress. The music is funny and amazing, one song is clearly a ripoff of "I need a hero".

More of a platform sort of beat em up, but very unique. I haven't really played much at least not till this weekend.

Who doesn't like fighting as a gundam, or maybe a kamen rider or even voltron? Haven't gotten around to this one either. So i don't have much to say yet.

Anyone ever play Gaiapolis? It's an arcade exclusive, not counting the unlicensed Famicom version which is actually pretty decent.

@hyruleslink it works with minor graphical glitches on lr MAME 2003, but I play it on AdvMame 3.4 or something, smooth as butter I believe.
