RetroPie 3.7 Installing LXDE desktop - script prompt /rules.d/99-com.rules - 'Install Package maintainer's version' or 'keep your currently installed version'
-
Hi,
I've grabbed the latest RetroPie 3.7 image, and am installing the LXDE desktop using the Experimental options in the RetroPie setup menu.
During the installation of the Raspbian desktop the script is prompting:
Configuration file 'etc/dev/rules.d/99-comm.rules'
==> File on system created by you or by a script.
==> File also in package provided by package maintainer.
What would you like to do about it? Your options are:
Y or I : install the package maintainer's version
N or O : Keep your currently-installed versionI'm inclined to keep the currently installed version, assuming that it's modified for RetroPie, but not sure.
Can anybody advise?
Thanks

We haven't customised that, but it could be by Raspbian - if you do Y the old file will be backed up - or you can compare the differences. N is probably ok though.

@BuZz Thanks, I'll give that a go. In the meantime I rescued my main installation and updated RetroPie to 3.7

Not rule related but LXDE/Retropie 3.7 related.... Anyone able to get the LXDE to work from within Emulationstation after installing from the experimental menu? Mine just kicks back to ES ports menu?? Don't recall seeing any errors when it installed nor are any errors displayed when kicking back to port menu.
Haven't tried a 'reinstall' thru the experimental section but just wondering if I'm beating a dead horse and have to exit ES manually to run?
