These three would make playing a cinch. Does anyone know if this is in the works already? If not, I'm going to pursue this at home.
Also, anyone know any reason why these would be especially difficult (really looking for showstoppers, not complexity of implementation)?
(Shout out, fantastic job so far)

Sorry, looks like Search has been asked for for a while (forum noob here and just found search bar at the top haha). Maybe that's the lowest hanging fruit. I'll go after that first.

Are you going to try to implement these features?
If so, pls document this so it can be added to the "official" retropie image.
That would be amazing!Edit: Favourites are already there with emulationstation-kids

I'm going to do my best to "tri" (lame data structure joke related to search). I'm having trouble finding the right place to fork ES or clone the most recent, assuming that's the right thing to do. The github (https://github.com/Aloshi/EmulationStation/tree/master) looks like it was abandoned a year ago but there have been parallel efforts scattered about. If anyone has a quick link to which repo to clone that would be amazing. Otherwise I'll continue to cruise the docs.

Hah. Who'd have known.
I'm working on implementing this. There's a PR here:
https://github.com/RetroPie/EmulationStation/pull/168
If you want to help test it out, you can get it on my repository at the RetroPie-Virtual-Systems-PR branch.
https://github.com/pjft/EmulationStation/tree/RetroPie-Virtual-Systems-PR
You'll need the Comic Book theme or the Steampunk theme for it to work, for now. Otherwise those entries will be unthemed for now. Carbon is in the process of being updated.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
