Keyboard/Joystick does not work after going from Kodi to EmulationStation

Hello,

Issue shortly. I have rasbian lite with RetroPie built from script with default settings.
Only change made is to not start EmulationStation automatically but just autologin.

At the moment kodi is started manual via "kodi" in terminal. (can make it autoboot but just disabled it for the moment)

I have this kodi addon:

It does work and it does launch emulation station, but controls of emulationstation are not working at all.
Unless I ssh to device:
killall kodi.bin
killall emulationstastion
then start emuliatiostation again

Any tips?

You have to close Kodi before opening Emulation Station, that is normal.

Yet nothing changed, instead of addin I now have entry via custom menu.
It does launch EmulationStation, but again controls are not working.

IF I unplug my keyboard dongle, then re-plug it back it works.

@Farfenkugell Better ask the guy who made that, I never tried it.
I use ES autostart at boot, a modified ES binary which autostarts Kodi, if there is no user activity for the first 10 seconds, on start, and it works just fine. Autostarting the RetroPies original ES, starting Kodi and exiting also works fine.

I have spend trying to start in Kodi then go to ES and back for last week with no success.
I made a post in his topic too, yet no response so far.
