RetroPie won't start after being shut down

@Captain_Jack42 Is it doing it every time? You said after a reflash it worked. Or is it failing every time after the first boot? If you don't try to set anything up for reading from USB, are you able to shutdown and reboot, etc? Just trying to determine what's the point of failure.

@obsidianspider after a reflash it works for the first boot, but when I shut Down the system in the menu it won't reboot until i reflash again, but restarting the system over the menu works fine.

@Captain_Jack42 Have you tried enabling reading from USB when this is happening, or are you trying it "out of the box" with no setup changes?

@obsidianspider i didn't Change any settings and I think reading from the USB is not the problem since the retropie os is running on my micro SD card and I am also able to play games from the USB drive

@Captain_Jack42 thanks, just trying to clarify what's going on.

So, when you shut down via EmulationStation: What do you do next? Do you wait for everything to totally shut down and then unplug the power cable? The reason I ask is because if you just leave the Pi plugged in, there's not a great way to turn it back on again without connecting to the RUN header. What most people do is to unplug it after it shuts down, then plug it in when they want to turn it back on again (unless they add a power switch, etc.)

@obsidianspider yeah I have a power switch built in my power cable so after I've shut down the system I wait until everything is done and the green LED stops blinking than I switch off the power supply and with other OSs I was able to turn it back on just by turning the power supply back on.

@Captain_Jack42 Yeah, that should be how it works. Hmm, I'm going to have to think on this a bit. Hopefully someone else will be able to chime in with some ideas.

Have you tried a different SD card, just to test?

@obsidianspider no not yet but I'll try when I find one

@Captain_Jack42 If you have a spare, even like a 4GB or 8GB one, just to put the image on and fire it up to see if things are working. It almost sounds like things are getting corrupted somehow. Don't even configure wifi, just turn it on, get into ES, then shut it down and see what happens.

I have exactly the same issue.
I have tryied every version I found on internet. I load it into my micro SD card that I use for my rasp pi 2.
The first boot works properly but when I shutdown (unplugging directly or waiting the shutdown process to be done then unplug the power supply) then it won't boot anymore.

I have tried to change the SD card, change the power supply cable.
I can't find any solution...

I don't have this problem with raspbian for example so this is a problem from retropie.
