Screen Saver Images?

Just following on from an earlier discussion, I was wondering if there is a branch / fork of ES that has image screensaver enabled. I know there is a branch with video screensaver enabled and launch of a ROM but that seems a bit like overkill. Dim and black are not really great options.

@AlexMurphy this is probably a dumb solution and idea, but if you have a movie creating/editing program you could create an MP4 that is like 3 seconds long of just the still image you want. The video screensaver will just loop that still image MP4 for 30 seconds. I think you have to have the video in your gamelist though, so not sure how to deal with that one.

@TMNTturtlguy Thanks, I had already considered that. I probably will do that. I can put together a 15 minute mp4 file with transitions and the like.

@TMNTturtlguy Also did you notice the black ES splash screen? I updated from source yesterday and it installed. I normally have it turned off but when I update it it reverts back to stock. Thanks for that Herb. You finally got it in. Much appreciated.

@AlexMurphy Yes, @pjft and @herb_fargus worked on that as part of the ES updates to improve memory and white flash issues. It is pretty sweet!

@AlexMurphy Don't spend much time creating a 15 minute video, the current screen saver is set to play 30 second clips. After 30 seconds it will switch to the next video, or in your case, just restart that single video.

@TMNTturtlguy Thanks for the heads up. Will probably do 10 minutes with 20 images then. Thanks again. Your comic book theme looks amazing by the way. It's not my thing but I know plenty of people who would go mental over it. Great work.

@AlexMurphy Don't may any video longer than 30 seconds. Anything longer than 30 seconds you will never see as the current build will just restart your video. You would be better making ten 30 second videos, this way the screensaver will randomly select and play a full 30 second video and then randomly select another one.

Indeed there's no image screensaver option - at least not yet.
My main focus at the moment is getting both OMX and the screensaver merged into the master branch so that we don't have to maintain two separate branches.
After that is done I may look into that at some point, given that it's something quite a few people have asked for. Just for perspective. Unfortunately, it won't happen in the very short term, but it would be on the roadmap as soon as I sort these two items out.
OMX is already submitted, just waiting for review and approval.
