No sound in games on Lubuntu 16.04

Hi

I've installed Retropie, following this guide https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/RetroPie-Ubuntu-16.04-LTS-x86-Flavor, on an old Pavilion DV6 laptop running Lubuntu 16.04 x86.

I get sounds with the 'speaker-test' command.
'alsamixer' command displays the following settings:

Sound is enabled in EmulationStation (at 100%), I can hear tic sound when I browse my games.

But when I launch a game, of any console types, there is no sound output.

Where should I look to troubleshoot this?

I don't have any experience running x86 RetroPie, but I'm sure that which emulators you're using when your not getting sound will be of particular interest.

Here comes what I can tell so far:
Hardware: laptop HP Pavilion DV6 1110ez

RetroPie Version: git show in the Retropie-setup dir give me this commit https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/commit/40abf5146fd20a900a2e147ce59169f615f9f6e6
So I guess it is v. 4.3

Built on top of Lubuntu 16.04 x86

USB Devices connected: none

Controller used: USB SNES gamepad like

Error messages received*: none
*With an headphone jack connected:

Make sure you have pulse audio installed or switch audio output driver via editing /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg or via the configuration editor on the retropie menu (available from the advanced mode of the configuration editor).

I tried very briefly to get things working without success and finally took the easy way installing Xubuntu with which I don't have any sound problem.
