I have Kodi installed on my RetroPie 3.8. I can start it from Ports. How do I make it so there is a Kodi on the main screen so easier for Kids to start it?

Also how can I setup this so works with Xbox 360 controller and bypass them needing a keyboard?

        It's in the RetroPie documentation

I followed that page. I got the Kodi Menu now. As for Xbox 360 controller when trying it looks like only A and B work. I can't move around with D pad to either stick.

You tried the D pad as well as the analog sticks? The analog stick seems to work out of the box for me with the Xbox 360 controller. I didn't realize it at first since the D pad is what is used in emulation station.

Here are the instructions however on how to map an controller:

and the official kodi wiki on it:

Maybe the issue is the xbox 360 wireless controller support in the latest Raspberry Pi Kernel?

Right now I am trying with a wired Xbox 360 controller.

I did order 2 wireless PS3 ones to use in van since will make a little easier on trips.
