@lilbud, the guy with an image for every occasion.

That blue triangle in the crook of his arm is bugging me though...

Sorry, this is my very first post in a blog ever. Never heard of Gimp, but I'll look into it. Not sure how I'll make out though, kinda slow. My mother used to beat me unmercifully with pots.

Hey Computer Graphics guys, I would humbly like to say that using CG software isn't that trivial for every one.

I am an illiterate on those softwares and I'm very very grateful for all art you guys do, especially the ones I requested. And in exchange I'm really happy to share my skills with you guys.

A good example that combination/sharing of skills brings positive results is the "launching images" feature. It was a @Rookervik 's idea, I started to code and requested some splashscreens to @lilbud , I submitted a PR, BuZz helped to trim the edges and now it's a really neat feature in RetroPie.

@meleu Be careful, once you fall down the graphics rabbit hole, there is no escape. First, you start with splashscreens, and then you get so involved that you are Photoshopping a picture of your evil history teacher as SpongeBob.

While I am a graphic artist myself (and I use paint.net), I create music more.

This above is basically me but with music and instead of photoshopping a picture of your evil history teacher as SpongeBob, I remix the Windows XP Error Sound.

                  I has sad lyfez.

Haha, yeah I know graphics aren't easy. That's probably why I said it. It's not that easy. So coming in and saying "nudge nudge - do this it would be cool" is like "hey, you wanna do some tough work for free? Cool, do this." :P

One of the main rules of a graphic designer is to never, ever, do work for free. Yet... I do all my graphics for free. That's why I work at a pet store and not sitting at home in an expensive house with weekends off. :D

If this thread gets popular and a ton of people want it, I'll work on it. Otherwise... I'm tired from working 12 hours at the pet store. LOL

I do apologize for my "open ended statement". I do know what it's like to work. I am an electrician, do HVAC and appliance repair, as well as farm 2400 acres of land - than I have all these city folk move to the country nearby, who don't know a damned thing, and call upon me all the time for nothing in return... So ya, sorry bout that.

Just getting into the pi thing because I recently broke my leg and have had nearly 4 free hours a day to sit on my ass... Always wanted to get into graphic art etc, but have never had the time. Likely never will either. This pi project is fascinating as s@#! though...
