RetroPie 3.8 & trouble with PS2 or PS3 controller analog mapping with lr-mame2003
-
Hi All,
Loving RP 3.8! Everything is working perfectly except for mapping my PS2 or PS3 controller's analog sticks over USB or bluetooth to lr-mame2003. Is this supported? the Retroarch RGUI shows all my controller's buttons and axis AUTO mapped, but when I TAB in lr-mame2003 to map my dual analog sticks for Robotron/SmashTV, they dont work/map. Only digital buttons/D-Pad works.
Pulling my hair out over here :(
Any direction would be awesome.
Thanks much,
Dave -
AFAIK ri-mame2003 supports one analog stick. I use mame4all-pi for Robotron and Smash TV where dual analog sticks on a PS3 controller work without issue.

Thanks much for the feedback. I'll will try that now. I was tried to use Retroarch exclusively due to standardizing on controls and shader support. Maybe I'll just using mame4all-Pi for my classic arcade games, and Retroarch for all consoles.
Have a wonderful day.

This morning I managed to get the PS3 right analog stick working in lr-prboom, the Doom port by adding the following line to retroarch config file.
input_libretro_device_p1 = "5"
You could try to do likewise to the retroarch config file for mame-libretro.

@dudleydes thanks for the note. I tried this, but no luck. The tab menu p1 controls still doesn't recognize my ps3 right analog stick.
