Config save states and keyboard use....

Hello,

Im new to retropie and raspberry pis in general.

I wanted to setup my own retrostation as i have one on my pc but be cool to have a portable one. Im not new to emulators but this retropie stuff is over my head lol.

I spent ages trying to just get roms on (easy now lol) then i spent ages getting my controllers working (hard work) then i spent ages trying to exit games ( Fail)

Now im having problems with save states and using my keyboard in emulator with a controller connected.

First question is, is it possible to use the keyboard aswell as my usb gamepad? When i have my gamepad connected i cant access emulator menus or save my game or anything. Which brings me onto the save/load state. If i cant use a keyboard how do i save state? It says to press F2 to save and F4 to load but i obviously cant as keyboard doesnt work. And im using a NES controller for my NES emulation so not enough buttons to do anything with.

Please help! Im tired of wrapping my brains.

Whatever keys you configured for your keyboard are the ones you'll use. It works just like hotkeys on the controller

Yeah this doesn't work... Does anybody else have any idea? I really want this fix :(
its like my Keyboard doesn't work fullstop when in an emulator playing a game. the controller works perfectly.

PLEASE HELP! Begging you lol.
