Hi, I recently set up an old raspberry pi1 as a retropie, I have a PC/PS3 style controller that works perfectly for it and everything runs fine etc, so I went and bought an 8bitdo Nes30 Pro and thought it would be as easy to set up as the other controller, basically just plug in and set it up. Well it does work I can get it to run,set up all the buttons, log into a game and then this is where the problem starts, all the key maps are wrong, like the start button is 'jump' etc and there is no way to quit out of the game. Everything I looked for online was fairly vague regarding how to fix it so I have come to the source. I don't want to use the controller on Bluetooth if I don't need to, I can leave it plugged in if possible. so my question is :

      1. How to get the 8bitdo Nes30 pro controller to work and remember the key mapping?

@8bitmaggot Did you follow the official instructions ? https://retropie.org.uk/docs/8Bitdo-Controller/ Sounds like you have the hack mode set wrong - you need to change it and reconfigure controller.
