This is a really great list, especially all the Sierra classic adventure ones. I suppose they're not quite suited for my RetroPie setup (requiring a mouse) but I'll check them out anyway for a future project or for playing on my laptop/desktop.
Thanks!

@pjft i play dos games on my pi more than anything else. I have bought soooo many dos games in the last couple months. Even though i own all the sierra games that are available on gog on cd's i am going to still buy them on gog. Everything is so much cheaper on gog than buying the games on ebay. Even though i will be buying everything i can on gog i still will still buy dos cd's and floppies too. On cd i still need/want the wolfenstein engine games, and the quake games. Then its just a game here and there if i find something i want
-
can you play littel big adventure on the pi3?
-
@spruce_m00se yup. i have the first one and i tested that and the 9 free games i got. They all work fine.

me too
i love being able to play the old games on my Pi. it is sweet, and most run really well -
@edmaul69 in which emulator would I have to run it ? I used to play that, it came as a freebie when I bought my first home pc back in 97 or 98
-
@spruce_m00se dosbox. When you install it on your pc it has dosbox files setup for it. I can help you set it up for the pi.
-
@edmaul69 woudl there also be a way to run the original command and conquer windows games? maybe warcraft 2?
if you know a decent link that shows how to set it up fele free to share :) -
@spruce_m00se as long as they are dos versions of the games you can use dosbox. There is a retropie dosbox wiki but i can help you a lot to speed up the process.
-
@edmaul69 i will look into this later and ask you for some help, right now im building a cabinet, and want to focus on getting that done while the mrs is away, I can play around with new games while she is here, but not use the router :)

Red Alert works also works a little slow at times
-
@exarkuniv red alert and CnC went slow on original hardware and run slow on my i7 with 16gb of ram, they were just coded badly, or had coding limits, thts part of the fun of multiplayer, you storm them with so many units that it slows down, then they dont know what to do since they are used to certain reaction speeds. it throws people off

Can you help a me out a little in understanding what's happening. What are DOS games? Are they old Windows games or just PC games?
-
@afunnyname do you know what DOS means?
-

been rocking those games from day 1. I still like Dune 2 over C&C, dont know why maybe its the memory's that i have playing it on my dads 286 laptop.... :)

I just realized I'm old :D
-
@afunnyname dos means disk operating system. Ms-dos is what microsoft used before windows. When you see a command line screen, that is what dos was like. If you have windows on your computer sometimes you have to bring up the dos prompt to do something in command line. That is what dos was. No gui. Windows 3.1x is an operating system running on dos.
