My game-related activity on this weekend:

      • RetroPie-Setup: added an option to update all installed themes in esthemes scriptmodule (it was merged).
      • RetroArch: added an option to show useful OSD messages to cheevos users after launching a game (it was merged).
      • RetroArch: once my PR above was merged, I implemented that option in RetroArch -> Settings -> Achievements menu (not merged yet).

      Sprints over to Raspberry Pi

        • Actual gaming: River City Ransom (NES). By the way, @UDb23 has overlays and a launching image for this game. Hey @backstander , this game has some cool cheevos to get, you should try it! ;-)

Nice list of changes! And River City Ransom is a great game to play. I really need to look into getting achievements setup on retropie...

Here is the list of changed files to add a single switch option in a RetroArch menu.

@retrofreak89 I run it on mupen64plus standalone with the gles2rice-hires video plugin.

You can read more about it here: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Optimization-for-Nintendo-64

After the latest update, it's not always 'high res' now which is a pain. Games like Zelda are still high res, but other games like smash don't look any different whether I use gles2rice-hires or gles2rice.

@meleu Also nice work Meleu :) I plan to do the same soon. Still tweaking the pi though, but almost done!

@mrjordaaany the River City Ransom cheevos aren't that tough. Just farm some coins defeating Benny & Clyde and buy/read the Dragons Feet book ASAP. ;-)

@mrjordaaany Ah. Star Fox, all 3 Zeldas, and Mario 64 all work for me. I don't think I kept the hi-res on Smash because it made it too stuttery for me.

All 3 Zeldas? Both of them, starfox, and mario are all still proper high res for me too. Some games just don't seem to be anymore.
