      @spruce_m00se Haven't played with it enough yet to say. My understanding is, if you can set it up properly, it works with any game as long as you and your partner are using the exact same rom file, and exact same emulator.

        @rig it's plays perfect in FBA . It even feels a tad to fast at times like darkstalker and some other games FBA emulates.

        i've heard this before! apparently the real CPS3 board actually had different (slower) frame rates in some stages/situations, but FBA aims for 60Hz at all times.

        if anyone can dig up a youtube video or something like that showing the proper hardware doing something different to FBA, then we could report it as an issue to FBA and see if they can fix it.

          @meleu huh, I am useing the same core but it looks choppy compared to my ps2. I'm using a rom from the correct rom pack

          Out of interest, I booted up my 3rd strike last night and it was choppy and laggy too. Then I updated lr-fba and tried again and it works 100% fine now. So maybe try that.

              @darksavior , I just tried 3rd strike again and compared it to my ps2 copy and it is not as smooth on the rpi. It looks like it is skipping frames.

                @mrjordaaany, I tried 3rd Strike again today and it was not as bad as I remembered but still looked like it was skipping frames. My lr-fba has the latest update. I then played 3rd Strike on my ps2 and it was a lot smoother. I think if you were to play it on the pi without knowing how smooth it is on the ps2 you might think there was nothing wrong with it. It is definitely playable on the pi.

                  @rig Don't know then. My pi3 at 1.3ghz plays sf3 fine at 1080p with the crt-pi shader. It will get dips of up to 5.fps sometimes but it's 60fps most of the time with no frameskip.

                    Yeah I'll agree with that. It's probably still not 100% but more in the 90% region now. However compared to not having updated lr-fba it is a huge difference in performance.

                      I can beat 'Contra' with the allotted three lives

                      Maybe you'll like to replay this game: it got new cheevos.

                      And there are some "bonus" cheevos with some really challenging ones:

                      How to make the ROM work with the "bonus" cheevos is described in the comments.

                      I hope you enjoy!

                        @meleu

                        Nice! 'Contra' is one of those games that seems tailor-made for cheevos. My play habits have been so scattershot lately that I wouldn't mind fully committing to a game for some tough, object-oriented gaming. The bonus cheevos appear to be mostly two player, but they're extremely creative. It looks like a few are even escort missions where the second player can't ever die or fire a shot. Very keen!
