@jacobjub there's a lot of very good documentation on the github that @herb_fargus linked to, remember also to check out the sub-categories on the right hand side (emulators, controllers, etc.).
If you cannot immediately find the things you need in the docs, I can warmly recommend youtube. There's a ton of videos there, too.

Is there any way to install these over a network? I tried that and it didnt work maybe i did it wrong

@jacobjub I use Samba shares and place my theme folder in
configs\all\emulationstation\themes
. Then, inUI SETTINGS
in the ES menu, I select my theme in theTHEME SET
option. You may have to restart ES for the new theme to take effect. -
Okay i got that now im getting an error saying it could not initailize texture from memory? I downloaded this theme off the forums i dont know whats going on./

@jacobjub what version of ES are you running? Depending on what theme you are trying to install you might need to update ES.

Move it to the roms folder. Then, follow this guide to install the desktop: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/FAQ#where-did-the-desktop-go (if you don't want to, use the method above). Then, follow this guide to update and activate VnC: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/remote-access/vnc/. Then, install any VnC cilent on the device you want to use. (You can do it on a phone too!) (My pick: https://www.realvnc.com/en/connect/download/viewer/ It works on pretty much every platform.) Then, open the VnC server by clicking the icon on the top bar that says "VnC". Then, open your VnC viewer and type in the IP address on the screen. Then, move it from the roms folder to the desktop. Then, follow the guide above. The config folder is in the opt folder (outside of home). Sorry it's so long!
