@edmaul69 I don't think they were added by RetroPie. I just installed from binary, and it worked fine on my RPI (I happened to just be looking at it due to this thread).

I didn't get anything added to my configs - are you running any 3rd party scripts with RetroPie that change configurations ?

@buzz ok very confusing. i use joystick-selection. I just checked my backup file and those configs were already there. However, I dont use lr-prboom but i selected it for this testing. Strangely enough it worked when i tested but after updating and installing it didnt. My controller i use is js0 so i am not sure why everything worked before at all and then after update the hotkeys still worked but controls didnt. But after removing those configs it works again. So i am not sure why it worked in the first place and why did my hotkeys still work after the update?

So @RetroFreak89 check your /opt/retropie/configs/ports/doom/retroarch.cfg file and make sure there arent any controller settings in the config file.

@edmaul69 no idea, but perhaps those config lines only affected the newer version for whatever reason. They may have been added by that tool - I don't know, but I'm pretty certain nothing in RetroPie-Setup adds them.

@buzz yeah after checking my old config it was already there so i will agree retropie didnt. I never used joystick-selection on lr-prboom so the joystick-selection could have somehow added it. Maybe @RetroFreak89 will get lucky and have a retroarch.cfg issue too and be able to fix it. So i can confirm it is not a retropie-setup issue. Thanks for taking the time to look into it anyways.

@retrofreak89 yes lr-prboom works for me. As for zdoom you need to disable all unused analogs for every controller in zdoom controller settings. Example. Ps3 controller detects 6 analogs. You have to disable the last two because they will be set to turning and other stuff causing you to spin. Also controllers that have a dpad but it is detected as an axis it can cause the same problems. Also if you modify a controller and you boot up without that controller plugged in you will have the same issue. So i disable all of the controllers axis' except for the controller i use.

@edmaul69 prboom works for you ? Then why the heck doesnt it work for me and my brother? The retropie setup to install prboom must be broken because the shareware install that comes with prboom even that doesnt run... well it runs but only to the menu if i press new game nothing happens

@retrofreak89 did you open up /opt/retropie/configs/ports/doom/retroarch.cfg and verify you dont have any controller configs in there? Also hook up a keyboard and see if any keys do anything.

@edmaul69 i got my controller working with Zdoom yes but my issue is still that prboom doesnt work not even the shareware version that came preinstalled with prboom the game opens up i press new game then nothing happens even if i press options nothing happens so i cant start a game in prboom only the game menu boot screen works lol sux because i want to use prboom as my doom source ...
I thought maybe i did something wrong do i let my brother do it on a diff pi and same thing for him..
But how can i do something wrong when it installs it self?
Heh like i said the shareware in prboom doent work either and that installs by it self do its the install thats bad im pretty sure of it

@retrofreak89 did you do what i said in my last post? Setting in the retroarch.cfg seems like the only logical problem. Do you use joystick-selection?

@edmaul69 no thats not my problem tho i can move up and down to go to new game with my controller and keyboard just fine.
But when i click on name game doom with prboom
Nothing happens as in i click name game then the game doesnt start not a button config issue i click name game then it follows with a screen of Just a picture of doom it self the game doesnt start it Just takes me to a empty title screen with background picture doom hell even if i click on options it Just takes me to a empty title screen with doom image (as if the options config was missing)

Maybe in misunderstanding something let me do what you said rly fast just to see i got nothing to lose haha wish i could play this

Edit:well im sitting here and i think my config is fine?
Not sure what you mean tho but i can move around in the doom title menu its just when i go to click new game it just takes me to a empty title screen of doom instead of starting the game it self.
So its not a controller config issue but maybe you know what to do?
