      I apologise that wasn't my intent.

          I like this, I would suggest using a selector image though.

            @Syhles What is a selector image? I don't keep up with all the ES changes. I like my themes to be compatible with older systems, pipplware, recalbox, and windows. Because my themes come pre-packaged on pipplware, and are also available for other raspberry pi distributions.

              @Rookervik Instead of using a color for the gamelist selector, you can use an image instead, as seen by @ruckage

                @lilbud Ah yeah, that's not possible in the older versions of emulationstation.

                  @Rookervik Regarding the mini Genesis in the top right corner, the contrast is not that good.

                    @Hex Yeah I've noticed a lot of them don't scale very well. ESPECIALLY on the raspberry pi. They can even get a white halo around them. So I'll probably remove them.

                    I haven't designed the system select screen yet. I'm thinking about trying the carousel bar at the bottom but make sure it works on older versions of ES as well. My pi hasn't been updated in a while and it's a lot of work to set everything up again if something goes wrong.

                    Also, many of the systems use black or dark grey as their background color, so those need to be changed as well. And to make it video-preview friendly... at least for my system... I need to change the name of some of the backgrounds. I'm still using an ES version that doesn't have layering added.

                    After I finish this up good enough to use for myself, I will probably tweak pixel so we can start working on the per-system backgrounds... theme each system. I'll get help from everyone to complete that.

                          @rookervik Aww, it's so cute.

                          Seriously though, that's pretty cool. I love your pixel work. Do you do other pixel artwork, like on DeviantArt or something?

                            @mattrixk I used to compete over at Battle of the Bits but they went 4 or 5 months without a pixel compo so I stopped logging in. Otherwise, not really. I just started doing pixel art working on video games and Retropie stuff.

                            I did more digital painting before until my wrist started bothering me. Now I moved over to pixel since it doesn't hurt to draw it.

                              Is there an element to this that's akin to an idea I had the other day...? A theme that isn't 100% unified, but instead has a very C64 look for that system, an NES look for that system, etc. Is that possible or would that just be bloated?

                                  Hmm, don't think ISO pixel art is the way I wanna go. Stopped this half-way through coloring it and adding the buttons. Don't think I like the direction it's going.

                                    @rookervik yeah, the lack of perspective looks a bit weird for a big picture like that. I vote for that one with the pixelized controller. ;-)
