Uninstall broke my system
-
I am running Ubuntu 16.04.2
I had EmulationStation, Mame, Retroarch installed previously.
I downloaded Retropie in an attempt to get the Scraper.
I installed Retropie and ran shall. Proceeded with Basic install, Core install and Option install and all seemed ok.
In the end, the scraper wouldn't work for me so as I had everything else doing what it was supposed to, I decided to uninstall Retropie.
It has now hosed my entire system. I have no network manager, no network connections, I cannot run emulation station
(Mame still seems to function).I do have a back up of my system however it is on a network drive so without networking, I am stuck.
I am a basic plug and play type of user, dont know a lot of command line stuff but will try with explanation.
lspci does still show the Intel network adapter.
Not sure what else to offer at this point, kind of panicked at the moment.

@shawnt62 sounds like you chose to remove all dependencies which is a bad idea (it warms you and is not the default).
You can use
sudo dhclient eth0
from terminal with ethernet cable to get connection and reinstall any missing packages via apt-get etc. -
You didn't need to install all if RetroPie for sselphs scraper btw. The scraper can be installed by itself.
