I am trying to transfer a a theme over FTP. I have only been able to locate the themes in /etc/.emulationstation/themes and do not have permission to copy files to this location. there is no /.emulationstation found under /home/pi/ what am I doing wrong? the theme I want to use is Retrorama and its not showing up under themes to install when I search for it within Retropie.

      I have:
      Raspberry Pi 3b
      Retropie 4.2

@lostnsound You can place your themes in either of the following folders:

        • /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/themes
        • /home/pi/.emulationstation/themes

The second folder is a hidden folder so you will have to select the option to display hidden files in your FTP client.

@dudleydes btw - those folders are the same - /home/pi/.emulationstation is a symlink to the first folder /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation
