Modern TV

@lilbud: Thanks for the offer mate. It's more a question of having the time and motivation to do it, rather than the ability. I had a play with jacobfk20's first couple of iterations (I was the one that started this post), and I was getting somewhere with it, but I started having less time to work on it. It looks like he's done heaps of work on it since then, which is awesome. Maybe I'll have some time over xmas.

@lilbud When i download the latest file it show up like this..
-
@Sander2506 I do not have a 4 by 3 monitor, so my themes will not work for that aspect ratio.
-
@lilbud i Will try iT on me tv tomorrow
-
@lilbud Got the same probleem with the tv, maybe i'm using a other emulationstation mod?
Can you post a link to that file? -
This theme looks fantastic, but is it susceptible to the white screen of death?
-
@lilbud : I appreciate it will be twice as much work for you, but you can develop for any screen size by starting emulationstation with these flags:
--windowed --resolution [w] [h]
Where you can define the width and height manually.
-
@Zigurana would that work on windows only? I do all of my work on the pi.
-
@lilbud good point.
Maybe it would work if you use some other window manager (X? ). -
Sorry to revive an old thread but, is the background not included in the theme? It looks like it's pointing to /splashscreens/modern/bg.png but I have nothing there. I really like the picture, it has a nice 80's vibe to it, please let me know where I can get it!
-
@thewinterdojer you need to use your own background and change the file path to that file.
-
@lilbud Got my background in place and everything looks great! Thank you for the theme.
Cycling through the systems in the carousel view slows down a little bit, do you think increasing the vram limit would help?
-
@thewinterdojer I know next to nothing about the VRAM, but that might work.
-
@lilbud I will give it a shot. Does it require any additional configuration to enable grid view?
-
@thewinterdojer sigh Grid view is a tricky subject to cover for ES, it was supported at one point, then the creator went silent, then someone else picked it up and it working on it currently. You will have to either wait until the new gridview is finished, or go find an old version of ES with gridview.
-
@lilbud Gotcha. That explains a lot, thank you.
