Configuring the wifi on raspberry pi3
-
Hi
I am trying to configure my wifi on retropie and it picks up other wifi networks except my own. Any ideas on how to configure?regards
-
@manishk Is the SSID on your wifi hidden?
-
@RetroResolution No the SSID is not hidden. I have a Trendnet Router
-
@manishk Have you gone into raspi-config and set the wifi in internationalization?
-
@glennlake I am new to Raspberry pi. Would you perhaps have steps to go about doing that?
-
@manishk OK. First connect a keyboard to your pi. Then pres F4 to drop to the command line. From there type sudo raspi-config. A menu should come up with several options. You need to arrow down to the internationalization line and press enter. The next list allows you to change your location and other things. The last item is the wifi location. Select that and scroll down to US and press enter. I wouldn't hurt to set every thing else to your location and keyboard. I don't know if this will fix it but it's worth a try. :-}

@glennlake Thanks alot. Will try and get back to you

@manishk Here is a link to the raspberrypi.org site for setting up your wifi using the command line. https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/wireless/wireless-cli.md

@manishk there's also a wiki page on it: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Wifi

@herb_fargus Thanks Herb! I've been in Raspberry Pi longer than RetroPie and in linux longer than both. :-}
