I have installed ubuntu 16.04 on a PowerPC iMac G4. In trying to install retro pie I am running into an issue compiling the build with the error . Unknown platform - please manually set the __platform variable to one of the : armm7-Mali generic-X11 imx6 odroid-c1 odroid-c2 rpi1 rpi2 rpi3 x86
I do not know Linux at all. Can someone point me in the direction or walk me through telling it what it wants to try and achieve this monster.

      Thanks

@nvdetroit PowerPC is not currently supported. It may work but it's untested. you can try forcing it.

        sudo __platform=generic-X11 ./retropie_setup.sh

I would suggest if you do not know Linux, to get a supported system - RPI3 with a premade image for example for ease of use.

Thank you for the help. I have a pi2 running retropie now. I acquired this computer and was trying to figure out something fun to do with it.

@nvdetroit any luck in getting retropi on the macmini G4? I was thinking about trying this too, can't find any other front end solution that compares.
