How to delete topics/posts
-
IIRC you can't delete things because the idea of this forum is to act as a support tool. If everyone deleted their post and/or thread after getting an answer, it wouldn't help the next person who had the same issue.
-
As a point of clarification, @ThatGuy-UNo wasn't advertising a channel of his. He was only recommending that two users might find a solution to their issues at @ETAPRIME's channel. This was tagged as spam, but the OP seems to have been just trying to offer helpful recommendations.

And unfortunately people would do it all the time. I actually had this enabled before, and corrected it some months ago. Had to undelete many topics because they had been removed by the poster after their question had been answered....

@mediamogul ok, if that is the case, I'm sorry.
But just telling them to search for a video on the channel is kind of useless...
Giving the direct link to a video that shows how to do it would be much better! And even better would be a link to a wiki page/documentation page, if existing -

Since this was last discussed, @ETAPRIME has posted a series of videos promoting a system for automatically obtaining full ROM sets and BIOS files, as well as illegal Kodi addons. His last video on the subject was about an hour ago and it appears it will be a running feature. I've already disliked the videos, unsubscribed and am considering contacting him directly, but it's my understanding that he's been told how this could hurt the RetroPie project before and is continuing ahead anyway. I personally still don't see a problem with people linking to helpful videos of his, as most will likely be unaware of his offending content. However, I won't continue to recommend them myself.

@mediamogul Yes, I have seen this too and it's a shame (kind of)...
I don't know why he is doing that, but hey, he can do what he wants, but it fells bad that someone is potentially hurting the retropie project.
Going to stop recommending his videos too -
@mediamogul That's a shame. He emailed me after I wrote on one of his videos, and said he had taken the video down - and now he's doing it again. Looks like he cares more about making money off youtube than RetroPie.
-
@BuZz Yip. Forget ethics, anything for a few more views and more advertising moolah. His RetroPie vids seem to be his most popular so obviously it is all about short term gain and

everyone else. Anyone comes here asking for help with crap he has told them to install will be referred straight back to him. -
@DorkVonWaterfall Hahahaha! Well, I do now!
-
NO, NOT ETA PRIME!
He's the only youtuber I know that does Pi stuff!
Please don't, please don't ban him or anything, he's a good guy with a good family and a.... a.... well you get the point. -
@itsnitro
Yes, but his wildcard antics are gonna get a lot of good cops killed.
-
@itsnitro Man, he is taking the piss. Do you want all of this closed down? He only cares about YouTube views and making money from Patreon. Some people see beyond that shit.
-
@mediamogul I'm not joking. He should actually be banned preemptively. Buzz banned that choccyhobnob guy for promoting stuff on facebook that included ROMs, or at least indulging it. ETA is actively promoting it. He should be removed.
