Is it possible to do all this on a Pi 3B with a single 128GB memory card?

      Hi

I've had my Pi for a few months but all I've done is download Rey's image and had a play with Raspian. But I'd like to turn it into a complete entertainment centre but I'm not sure if it will do everything I want.

Obviously I have a Pi 3B and also have official PSU, case, sandisk ultra 128GB Micro SD, Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse, PS3 Joypad and will be using Ethernet connection. I've made a list bellow of what I'd like to do on my Pi.

Use it like a computer via Linux (rasbian or Ubuntu) for stuff like libre office
Kodi with the ability to run Amazon Video and BBC iPlayer etc.
Build my own big emulation build like Rey's
Stream PC games to the Pi from my Nvidia GTX 1070 equipped PC via Moonlight or Similar
Be able to choose which function I want via a menu.

I don't know if this is all possible and I'd appreciate any help

      Thanks :)

I don't know who "Rey" is, but that sounds like a custom image, and we don't provide support for that.

That said, the list you describe seems reasonable.

Sorry! Don't want support for any image as I plan to do my own install. Hopefully if it all works I can put a Pi on each of my TV's :)

@pinchez you can do quite a bit with 128gb but not everything. The 1300 u.s. playstation 1 games is 500gb alone. Mame can be quite large. Pc-fx, turbografx cd/ pc engine cd, and sega cd can be large too.

I'm not after full collections, I'd be quite happy with a best of collection for each emulator. I wonder if I install Raspbian then install Kodi, Retropie and moonlight I could just individually run them from Raspbian Desktop, quit and return like you can on normal PC?

You can pick up 1TB or even 2TB external USB hard drive that will easily be powered by the RPI 3B and will hold pretty much every system you can think of on 1 TB drive and have room to build a media centre

If you use a 2TB external USB powered drive then you'll also have plenty of room to put movies, etc, etc as well as plenty of games to play

If you choose to get an external hard drive , make sure its a decent brand and a true 2 1/2 hard drive (I have 2 1TB Toshiba USB powered and they are tiny) . They are smaller than the RPI in a case as I'm aslso looking at building a media centre with games that will fit on the back of our LED TV using the VESA mounts once I finally finish off the arcade desktop cabinet I've been working on since Christmas !!

                https://www.modmypi.com/raspberry-pi/cases/vesa-mounts

I have to order the buttons and sticks and its pretty much done, with wi-fi if needed, but is really designed to plug an ethernet cable into it and USB keyboard as needed for updating, plus PS3 joypad for PSX games also buttons on the side for pinball DOS games

I may upgrade to a full hyperspin desktop cabinet as I have a spare Intel i5 when I upgraded my desktop to an Intel i7 along with getting a cheap motherboard with on-board GFX and 4GB RAM, but thats another future upgrade well down the to-do list. Actually getting it finished before this Cristmas would be a start
