colord-sane crash in Ubuntu 16.04
-
Using a Mac Mini (2011) and some other older x86 PCs, I have noticed that after a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04.x and RetroPie that colord-sane will crash. The crash happens a few minutes after ES starts. It pops up a dialog box that has to be dismissed using a keyboard or mouse.
After a ton of research, I found that installing the gnome-color-manager package will alleviate the crashing. Not sure why, but it also gets rid of gtk crashes (although they were happening far less frequently). Hopefully this will help people who are searching in the future.
However, does anyone have any input as to why this might be happening at all?

@devildog820 I can't think of anything related to RetroPie that would affect it. We don't change anything related to that or other gtk applications.

Right on. I'm positive that it's an Ubuntu bug related to some package needed by RetroPie and not RetroPie itself. And only on Mac Mini and related hardware.
Does RetroPie use color profiles at all? Or can I just go ahead and uninstall that?

@devildog820 It doesn't.
