      @caver01 Thanks, no they are the same .wav files. zaxxon.zip is the exact same size. It's a head scratcher but no massive deal as I said it runs perfectly on advmame and that's good enough for me. Cheers for the help.

          Weird. I don't know why I thought the numbers were different!

          What about updated binaries? I know the sample path changed, but that was a while ago.

            @caver01 I'm all up to date. Thanks again, don't worry about it. No big deal as advMame runs it perfectly. You seem to be fretting over this more than I ever did!

                  @stevep Create a file called samples or re-name the one you have called "sample" or change the file path in the config to point to the correct directory.

                  EDIT: I see it is . But try changing every thing to "samples" mine works like that.

                    @stevep Which advMame are you using? Just asking. There are 3.

                        @stevep Are you sure you are running them with 1.4 because you may not be.

                          Yes...I don't quite follow your last post .The rc file reads

                          dir_sample /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-advmame/sample

                          That's where I put them...also when I open the emulator on retropie it tells me I have a game called sample....

                            @stevep okay, You are editing the 1.4 rc file. Are you using 1.4?

                              @stevep You have the files in the correct place as far as I can see. It does not have to be plural "samples", it just has to match the path that is listed in the .rc file. Make sure you are launching with 1.4. Then, check your sample file size. It may differ from the one we have been talking about above, since the romset for advmame is different.

                                sound_samples yes
                                in your .rc file?

                                  @AlexMurphy said in Zaxxon audio:

                                  @caver01 Thanks for the offer. I have this 710 KB (727,146 bytes) and there are 12 .wav files inside. It's named correctly zaxxon.zip and it's in ...BIOS/mame2003/samples/ It's from the 0.78 set. Samples is set to ONCan't figure out the issue at all.

                                  It just doesn't feel nice to leave a stone unturned. . . I know we keep bouncing back and forth between advmame and mame2003 comments, but for lr-mame2003, when you said Samples is set to ON are you referring to the libretro core option mame2003-samples? I think the valid value for this should be enabled. Just a thought.

                                    @caver01 Holy shit. You are obsessed with my 0.78 Zaxxon! If you are ever in Belfast, Ireland let me know! You have a place to stay. Hahaahahhaaha!

                                      @AlexMurphy Ha ha. Well, not really obsessed. It's just a puzzle. There is obviously some reason I can get the audio to work in 2003 and you cannot. I am curious if any samples work for you in this emu, or if it is just zaxxon. But if you don't want help I guess we can forget about it. I am going to chalk it up as something strange on your end ;-).
