When using EmulationStation within Retropie I am using an Xbox 360 Wireless controller, which works well. The problem however is that I can only use the D-pad to navigate through the menus.

Is there a way I can use the analog stick and also keep the ability to use the D-Pad?

      Thank you,
      Stevetb

You can only use dpad or analogue sticks, since the majority of retro platforms are designed to play with dpad, the retropie give it priority over analogue, specially with lot of users using snes pad clones, yet you can edit the file "/home/pi/.emulationstation/es_input.cfg" and switch the values of dpad to analogue

@Lodan-Zark Thank you, I will try editing the es_input.cfg and see if that helps. Thank you

If you're in a game, you can also press hotkey+Y and that should pull up the RetroArch menu where you can find the "inputs" menu and change the settings to enable the left analog stick to work the same way as your Dpad. If you go to the configuration settings within the same menu, you can set this to "save configuration on exit" and then any games you play on that emulator will have the left analog stick enabled.
