Tested Spinner Games for AdvMame v1.4 RetroPie 3.7
-
These games works with Spinner but some of the games also use stick and buttons at the same time.
I hope that someone in the AdvMame Crew can make Gyruss work on RPi2 Adv.Mame v1.4 in the future
This guy have Gyruss working with a spinner using a diff file, but this is for more advanced users NOT like me ;-)

@hamak You can add otwalls (Off The Wall--Sente) to the list. Works fine in AdvMAME with two spinners and two joysticks.

Is this just for AdvMame v1.4? I am curious why anything needs done to get the spinner to work. I use DIY spinners made using hacked usb mice,and they work with Advance mame without making any changes or additions to any configs. I actually just tested one of my spinners with an RPi3 and RP3.7 using advMame 0.94 and 1.4 just a few minutes ago for a new cab I am building and it worked just fine). I am not familiar with the Spintrak, so does the spin track not work as a mouse? I have been tempted to buy a spintrak for another project, so this info will be handy if the spintrak does need these changes. With my setups, I have to use advMame 0.94 for several games as advMame 1.4 does not work well with the USB audio devices I use and the sound is delayed by several seconds for some reason, but that is another story.

@Aceisback I use the TurboTwist2 spinners from Groovy Game Gear. They do function as a mouse, but AdvanceMAME has always required specific settings to get them (and my trackball) to work:
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/106/trackball-working-in-mame4all-but-not-advmame/2As for your USB audio delay, I saw the same thing once upon a time. It has to do with the way you have your alsa configured. It's possible to overcome it--I did--but I don't know what configuration resulted in fixing the delay. I ended up just ditching USB audio because I could never get everything to work with it, most notably the common volume controls that want to adjust "PCM" when my USB adapter insisted to be called "Headphone". I eventually noticed an audio normalize setting was enabled in advancemame that was causing non-USB audio to crackle. Turning off normalization cleaned it up, so I no longer needed USB audio.

@caver01
Great, I will check them and add hem to the list -

Maybe HDMI to HDMI + Audio Adapter is the thng for you
ebay search this, product id: 151897909458
I guess your spinner is Great and it will work on anything because all spinners are alot like a mouse in a way. -
Thanks for the info. I will check into the HDMI audio. I also use mini handheld trackball mice and have not had to do anything with Advmame. I do know there have been issues with Advmame and spinner/mouse setups, I just have not experienced any "YET". I did have a recent problem with my spinner in Retropie 3.6 with Stella, but the problem is corrected in Retropie 3.7. Not sure what that was about. I still want to try the suggested config edits to see if they have any effect on my setups. I always like to try new things.

turboCould not get turbo to work for some reason, it did not start at all in mame 0.94 or 1.4 but the other games are verified fo advmame v1.4
I will be checking out other version of turbo soon...
Thank you :-) -
@hamak Turbo works just fine for me using advancemame 1.4. I can map it to either spinner or my trackball.

@caver01
I can't get it to start.
I have tried multiple versions of the game but still cannot make it start.
I run "floob-retropie-attractmode-v03-02-MAY-2016" image with NO updates because when updating I got switched and unusable controller buttons and stick problems.I will try to do a clean retropie v3.7 with emulationstation only build for raspberry pi 2 and see if everything works. But this will take some days.
Thanx :-)
