Lagging on NES games
-
I noticed that when i play even NES games it lags and the game goes in sort of slow motion as soon as there is a little bit more happening in the game, for example a couple of enemies appearing at the same time in the screen.
I would have wished for the retropie to be as a similar experience as playing on the original NES console, but unfortunately it is not.
Also it can sometimes have problems with the sound. Is there a solution for this lagging and slow motion behavior? I mean 8-bit games can't surely be too demanding for the Raspberry Pi?
Some help and solutions are highly welcome.

@TheGamer A lot of this is the emulation actually working too well and replicating the slowdowns which happened on the original hardware. As for the audio you could try reducing the sample rate via the RetroArch menu.

Have you tried a different version of the ROM you're having issues with? Might be that you're running a EU ROM when it should be a US one or vice versa. Might be worth a try.

Haven´t tried that, but should that really matter on the retropie.
I wonder if the Nintendo mini classic edition also has these kind of lagging problems or if it emulates better than the retropie?

more information about your setup might help shed some light. here's a template for starters: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
knowing which pi model, emulator, game(s), configuration files you've edited, etc. would help folks troubleshoot

@TheGamer What games in particular are you having issues with. The original NES had lots of slow down, and emulators are doing exactly what the original NES did. If the sound doesn't sound choppy, but sounds normal, its just the original slow down in the game.
As far as the EU vs US, EU games ran 4% slower.
