      Hello all,

I have a SNES30 connected and it can navigate emulation station. However when I launch a game it is non-responsive.

      I opened "rm /home/pi/.emulationstation/es_input.cfg"

      <inputList><inputConfig type="joystick" deviceName="8Bitdo SNES30 GamePad" deviceGUID="05000000c82d00004028000000010000"><input name="a" type="button" id="0" value="1"/><input name="b" type="button" id="1" value="1"/><input name="down" type="axis" id="1" value="1"/><input name="hotkeyenable" type="button" id="10" value="1"/><input name="left" type="axis" id="0" value="-1"/><input name="leftshoulder" type="button" id="6" value="1"/><input name="right" type="axis" id="0" value="1"/><input name="rightshoulder" type="button" id="7" value="1"/><input name="select" type="button" id="10" value="1"/><input name="start" type="button" id="11" value="1"/><input name="up" type="axis" id="1" value="-1"/><input name="x" type="button" id="3" value="1"/><input name="y" type="button" id="4" value="1"/></inputConfig></inputList>

Does this look correct? Not sure how to proceed or if each game needs to be configured for the controller?

      Thanks for any input!

Seems this can be a common issue. The controller works in ES, but not in actual roms. I tried turning off and on the firmware hack. I just updated to the version 4 firmware today. My setup in retropie 4.2.7 on Ubuntu gnome 16.04 on a current intel NUC. I want to smash these controllers already. They've been nothing but grief. :(

@Glenzee if you switch the hack to the other option, you have to re setup the controllers in emulationstation so it can create the other configs.

Ok got it working. My issue and this doesn't seem to be stated directly, was that I linked the controller to my OS first. This is wrong. Do not connect to your gamepad to your actual device, connect it through the retropie set up only! Hopefully this will help others. :)
