      what do i do when i get to the config menu with all the settings?

        Welcome the forum. Your question shows that you should first do some reading about the initial setup process. It would be far too encompassing and time consuming to tell you everything you needed to know in this setting. After you've read up a bit and try a few things, please feel free to come back as you hit roadblocks. Also, it's important that when you do so, please follow the requirements for a support request detailed at https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

            @mediamogul so i have turned it on for the first time and i have done every thing with the sd card and i have formated a usb drive to fat32 what next lol?

              Start small. Just move over some ROMs that you think you'd want to play first. The basics are all covered in that link I gave you.
