Can anyone direct me to the correct command flags for scraping video snapshots using the sselph scraper please? I have searched and searched and cannot seem to find anything.

      Thanks

@cliffyfromboro You can use scraper -h to get the flags. You are looking for -download_videos and possibly -download_marquees

Today I learn that there are two versions of the scraper: the one in the retropie_setup.sh script, and another command-line version you must download separately...!

@felleg the setup script downloads the scraper. You just have to go to the terminal to use the flags that aren't coded into the gui. They are the same.

@herb_fargus Strange, I'm pretty sure I installed the sselph's scraper via the retropie setup, and yet the scraper command didn't exist in the terminal. But alas, I installed it manually with instructions from sselph's GitHub and it works now.

Downloaded 16 GB of videos yesterday! \o/

@felleg it's not installed globally with retropie, You have to be explicit in the filepath eg /opt/retropie/supplementary/scraper/scraper

@sselph Hopefully you can help with this one.

I downloaded the latest scraper from retropie setup. I quit emulation station and went to terminal. I ran scraper from /opt/retropie/supplem......

I ran scraper -scrape_all -download_videos -download_marquees. It runs through the roms and gets all the images and other metadata perfectly. I go back to emulation station using the cyngus theme and it shows the video area, but no videos (just the static).

What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Also, I want to add, that I ran the script without download videos first. It got all the images etc. Then I found out it can download videos and now this where I am at. It just runs through the list quickly and nothing changes. It never downloads the videos.

Another point also - the gamelist.xml files have no video tags or marquee tags in them.

Just tried the latest release from github as well, and same thing. I am definitely missing something

@y0da You need to make an account on screenscraper.fr and once it's done specify your user and password to the scraper using the ss_user and ss_pass flags (if I remember them correctly). You must also specify that your source database is screenscraper (ss), and not the open videogame database (odb). I think the flag for this is console_src, but please verify all of these flags by checking the output of scraper -h

@felleg looks to be working - thanks again. Wish it would have thrown an error message or something....

But this is great - thanks again.
