no config found for virtual boy - how/where to load this config?
-
@mediamogul my apologies. I'll try and see if I can get the SD card erased and flashed with a fresh image. Perhaps that will allow the virtual boy emulator to be installed the easy way instead of manually and will hopefully automatically load and or pull the proper config for it. I was hoping not to have to delete everything and start fresh and just type the config wherever it goes but that doesn't seem to be an option.

@nitrouscav97 fact of the matter is with any build (especially those from third parties) will fail at some point and a reimage will be necessary. It's much better and cheaper in the long run to know how to set it up yourself.
Let us know how you make out with the image, I would really recommend using etcher as you won't need to unzip the image first before flashing the SD

@herb_fargus makes sense. It's too bad it isn't just an easy configuration like when you turn it on and the controller needs to be configured right then and there.
The WinZip program seemed fine but I am working on a new laptop with Windows 10 and after downloading the program and basically going step by step through the video the WinZip program just wouldn't work. It was a couple weeks ago but made an error something like program not supported like it was the laptop with the issue not WinZip itself.
Hopefully tho the new image will automatically load those configs. All the configs work for the other systems this is the only one doing this. I even pondered manually installing lr beetle again to see if it was just the current version that wasn't working.

Hopefully tho the new image will automatically load those configs.
I'm sure it will. I've never heard anyone else experience that issue. Under normal circumstances, VirtualBoy is one of the easiest emulators to setup.

@mediamogul The emulator itself wasn't hard to input, its the config that's got me. Something I actually noticed when I tried it again today it is loads and actually says "no config found for virtual bou" it spells boy wrong and says virtual "bou" so that's probably what the issue is! I'm hoping to find where it is getting the "bou" from as that's got to be why it isn't loading the retroarch config for the system. Of course of all the systems it's the one I want to play the most!

SOLVED! I figured it out, it was exactly what I thought it was, my own issue and I am a dumbass. Since the config was saying "no config found for virtual bou" I knew there had to be a typo somewhere. I checked the configs the other day and didn't see a typo, BUT it was on the command line of the code that I couldn't see (it is too long) because I couldn't scroll with my controller, I plugged in my keyboard and when I scrolled over on the command line and sure enough I had typed in "virtual bou" since "y" is next to "u" that was my bad. I corrected the letter, restarted ES and boom good to go!
ok for mods/admins to mark this as SOLVED if needed, this was totally my issue! I guess for others with future reference if it says "no config found for <system>" check the command line and SCROLL OVER to see what you typed. I'm truly an idiot!
