MAME won't run games with USB soundcard?
-
Hello
I'm on a Pi Zero and a small 3.5" composite display and I would like to have decent sound in my small setup.
I just got a USB soundcard, and everything works great. All emulators run perfect, except for MAME. The games just won't launch.
When I disable the soundcard (by removing the text in my asound.conf), all my MAME games run perfect.
... but as soon as I add
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 1
device 0
}to my asound.conf again, MAME games won't work.
I'm guessing this is a mame4all issue, but there are no other decent MAME emulators for the Zero board.
This is bumping a very old thread I guess, but I was wondering if anyone had found a solution to this issue?

I think mame4all is looking for a PCM soundcard, and won't work other soundcards. Could there be some kind of workaround?

Anyone?
Sorry for the bump

I also tried with the Adafruit DAC bonnet, same issue, can't launch any MAME games
I just get
lvl0: volumecontrol::init() - failed to find mixer elements
... and then it goes straight back to ES menu
I would really like a solution!
/Thanx
