Hi guys
So ive been adding games to my build and they all run and boot OK....however im noticing that they dont run as smooth as i remember from back in the day.
Im using a panasonic LCD TV, ( game mode on ).....however i just cannot get retropie to output a 60hz signal which i believe is leading to the slightly choppy scrolling on some games.
Ive edited the boot config and tried different HDMI settings but the TV always seems to stay in 50hz mode.
Ive just tried a few other consoles on the TV and they output 60hz fine.
Could anyone enlighten me how i get retropie to output a 60hz signal please.
Thanks

@stepppp without knowing your screen resolution, i cant tell you the correct settings. If it is 1080 p then these are the settings you use in /boot/config.txt
hdmi_group=1 hdmi_mode=16
Then when you start a game and it says press a button to configure, press your "a" button. In there you can set video mode to CEA-16.

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
So when booting into retropie it will only be 50hz and when i select a game that will then change it to 60hz?
Is there no way to make the retropie menus work at 60hz?
Again thanks

@stepppp yes. Set the settings i posted in the config.txt. Remove the # in front of them. Those settings force 60hz 1080p for everything. You shouldnt have to do the other configs but they are there if you need to. Sometimes emulators will run in something like 640x480 and you set those configs to force it into the resolution you want.
