Freeze in configuration screen and can't connect to wifi

I bought a raspberry pi 3 to use retropie. I installed it on a sd card and everything was fine until i went to the retropie configuration screen to setup my wifi connection. I clicked connect to wifi, selected it and put my wifi password but it doesn't connect, i tried multiple times but it doesn't connect. So i exited the wifi screen to go back to the retropie config and i couldn't do anything, i pressed everything on my gamepad but nothing moves and i'm forced to unplug the power supply. What can i do about these problems? Thanks in advance
