CEC Not Working in Kodi
-
When I first setup the PI3 B+ with 4.2 retropie CEC worked out of the box. I added games, configured controllers etc spent days setting it up. got to a state where my controllers wouldn't seem to work no matter what, then rolled back to an image I took when CEC was working. Now my controllers work, but CEC does not :(
Anyone know what could cause CEC to not work? I mean I can run the CEC-Client and it shows my TV and receiver, and I can run commands from the commandline to turn off the TV etc. When I launch Kodi I get a message that it connected to CEC and the TV etc. But the remote cannot seem to do anything but change the sound. I can no longer use the remote to navigate. So what now do I have to start over AGAIN? I have spent weeks on this project and it's getting a bit tiresome having to keep reinstalling for unknown reasons. (I don't even know that spending another week setting everything back up again will get CEC working again or not :( ). I don't really understand what the issue cna be if cec-client can issues cec commands and they work. is there a cec-client command I can use to see if the remotes buttons are registering?

The cec-client program is not the same as the one in Kodi, which is built in. Dont try to start the cec-client or programs which use CEC while Kodi is running, it might cause problems. Which version of Kodi and libcec you have currently installed ?
Also what is the exact model of your TV? -
Yea I read they can conflict I was just hoping there was a command to see if the button presses were registering.
How do I check the libcec version?
TV Model number is UN65KS800D

When I came home from work. CEC was working again, after days and hours of it not working. I didn't change a single thing!
Now the only problem is that my TV keeps turning on every 10 minutes or so.

It maybe eletrical interference. Sometime ago I had 1 Pi, a TV and many more devices, connected to only one plug and sometimes CEC stopped working. It may sound strange but the only solution for the CEC to start working again, was to shutdow the Pi and the TV and switch the electrical plug of both.

@rascas I unplugged everything the night before, didn't help. I had reset the TV in the morning, but it did't seem to solve it either. However by the time I got home it was working again!
