      Re: Asus Tinker Board

The board is waste of money. The Debian Os is full of bugs. The Android plays video in single frames. The Chrome Os problematic, anyway not official. Not many times before I had such a premature product in my possession. Shame on You Asus. I wasted 24 hours trying to make it run Kodi. The PI3 does it much better, also if You need an additional owen in Your place, it might come useful.

@arnonnavot but surely I thought that it would be better. Clearly the specs say this is a better board than the pi!

I suspect lack of community support is the biggest factor here. I read somewhere they were halting production of the board. If true, it's probably because ASUS didn't immediately make millions when they made a Pi clone so their thinking meh, we have better things to do, and dropped it.

Isn't this the case for all RPi clones? Lack of software support, lack of community. Thus not very useable straight out-of-the-box.

I (also) learned the hard way: if you don't exactly know what you want to do you with it and know for sure this is already possible, don't buy the board. Especially if you don't want to be the pioneer programming & porting all the stuff yourself.
