Pi Model or other hardware: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
Power Supply used: Official Raspberry Pi™ Foundation 5V 2.5A Power Supply
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.2.12
USB Devices connected: XBOX360 Controller Dongle, Keyboard, PiHut USB Hub
      Controller used: XBOX360 Controller
      Guide used: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/msx
      Emulator: lr-bluemsx
      es systems file: https://pastebin.com/Kqgsr3WD

      runcommand.log:
bash: /opt/retropie/supplementary/joystick-selection/js-onstart.sh: No such file or directory
      Parameters:
      Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-bluemsx/bluemsx_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/msx/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/msx/Knightmare III - Shalom (J).rom" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

None of my MSX files are working. I've have all of the bios in the both the bios and machines folders, with the proper MD5 checksums (which I verified through winMD5).

Either way, when I go to load msx roms I get a blank screen and booted back to the menu. Please help

@shizzmoney if this is the same issue as that similar one where you posted too, then the solution is 3 or 4 posts above.

@meleu yeah I removed the joystick selection tool and then reninstalled it via putty (I put sudo in front bc I have root). Updated the source and MSX still won't load.

I only have a keyboard and the XBOX360 controller connected to my retropie. So I am confused on what this step means:

"the players you disabled input before will be something like 32 not connected, change those to other config (maybe Disable if you want to keep as it was before)"

Forget about it for a while. Can you please post your /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg in codepad.org ?

@shizzmoney my suggestion: remove and reinstall retroarch.

@meleu still no dice, retroarch.cfg below:

                      and runcommand.log:

@shizzmoney not sure if you really understood my previous suggestion. Being more clear:

                        1. go to retropie_setup -> Manage packages -> Manage core packages -> retroarch -> remove
                        2. right after removing install it from binary.
                        3. exit retropie_setup and try to launch a game.

Is this same issue happening with other systems (NES, MegaDrive, etc.)?

@shizzmoney if you enable verbose mode when launching what does the log say?

@shizzmoney verbose mode should log more than that results in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (maybe info?)

@shizzmoney please use pastebin for large code blocks

                                        Anyways this bit here:

I got a similar response with another emulator because I had the wrong bios file, not entirely sure but that could be the case here.

@herb_fargus I tried to run it under fmsx, got back this in the log:

maybe those are the files. weird though b.c the retropie manager says they are the correct ones!

@shizzmoney you werent logged in as root when you added them? You could try giving 0777 permissions to those files and see if that does anything
